
Mi-Helen Horn

Mi-Helen Horn, born in 2009 into a German-Korean musician family, is an exceptional violinist who discovered her musical talent at a young age. She began her first violin lessons when she was just four years old and since then she has embarked on an impressive musical journey.
At just eight years old, she was accepted as the youngest student at the University of Music in Nuremberg, where she studied under Professor Ulf Klausenitzer. She then continued her musical education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts with Professor Susanne Stoodt.
Since 2021, Mi-Helen Horn has been studying as a mentee of the internationally renowned violinist Professor Marc Bouchkov. Starting with the 2025/2026 academic year, she will be enrolled as a junior student at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
She was awarded a scholarship from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where she participated in masterclasses with Professor Latica Honda-Rosenberg. Mi-Helen has also gained additional artistic inspiration through a masterclass with Professor Ulf Wallin.
Her exceptional talent has been recognized through numerous national and international accolades. She won 1st Prizes with the highest score at the Jugend musiziert competition (2016, 2019 regional level). In 2025, Mi-Helen won 1st Prize with the highest score at the Jugend musiziert Landeswettbewerb Hessen (state level) and also 1st Prize at the Jugend musiziert Bundeswettbewerb (national level) in the Solo Violin category. In addition, she was honored at WESPE with a Special Prize of the Fondation Hindemith. She was awarded multiple 1st Prizes with the highest score at the Mendelssohn Competition FrankfurtRheinMain (2015, 2016, 2018, 2023, 2024) and the Carl Schröder Competition Sondershausen (2017, 2019, 2024). Internationally, she received the 2nd Prize at the Rovere d’Oro Competition in Italy (2017) and she is the 2nd prize winner of the world's most traditional international youth competition, the Kocian International Violin Competition in the Czech Republic (2023).
Mi-Helen gave her solo debut at the age of six in the Thiersch Hall of the Kurhaus Wiesbaden with the Johann Strauss Orchestra Wiesbaden. Further performances with this orchestra followed at Biebrich Palace. In 2018 and 2019, she appeared on the Korean television network SBS, including a recital broadcast from Seoul and Daejeon. She was also featured in a live radio recording by SR2, performing excerpts from Bach’s Partita No. 3.
Other notable appearances include solo performances with the Loh Orchestra Sondershausen (2019 and 2024), the Chamber Orchestra Frankfurt Solisten (2024), and at the newly inaugurated Casals Forum in Kronberg (2022). In 2023, she was invited as a soloist to commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Germany. In 2024, she toured with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra as part of the Hessen school tour, and in 2025, she performed with the Main Chamber Orchestra at the concert “Lions Spring Classics.”
Mi-Helen Horn is undoubtedly an extraordinary violinist, already boasting many achievements and destined for many more milestones in her musical career. Her passionate dedication to the violin and exceptional talent make her a world-class artist.
